They aren't really looking for fun, exciting or dynamic people. What they are looking for are people who are comfortable in their own skin and don't look like complete idiots/deer-in-the-headlights when talking in front of a camera, or can provide some "casting gold" (see, e.g., Coach, Randy, etc.), or who clearly fit a pre-cast character (see, e.g., Sandy [crazy old lady], Jerry [military hero], all black women besides Cirie and Taj [angry and/or lazy black female]). If they can't find that, then they settle for good looks. If you are good-looking (men) or have huge boobs (women - fake or real doesn't matter), then you have a leg up whether you can talk to a camera or not or whether you'd play the game well or at all. Occasionally they let slide through players who don't fit any of those categories, but not often. I mean, how many players have ever been really ass-ugly? How exactly are models/bartenders/actors qualified as having "interesting, diverse, exciting lives" when if they were that interesting or diverse, they'd have a career that did not require appearing on Survivor for a boost?

The application is a load of bull. They don't really look for people who can play the game, they look for what will look good on camera. Period. We've seen this agenda since at least S10. The game and the people cast have evolved since it started 20 seasons ago, but the application has not. Same stupid ass questions which don't tell you anything about who the person is or how they'd play the game (I mean - how exactly does knowing what magazine I read or what my favorite movie is tell you a damn thing about my character? Nothing, that's what. Or what my perfect day is? Not a damn thing other than how good my imagination is).

I'll still apply because the show is still on the air, but I for one am sick and tired of hearing Lynne, et al. complain about the same boring applications coming in when they haven't updated their same boring application questions ever. Perhaps it's not the applicants, but the lame ass crappy questions we have to answer.
