People on the boards seem to be down on Survivor because of all the contestants who were recruited to be on the show the past 2 seasons. I agree... I'm pissed off that there aren't more "fans" on the show, but there is really nothing we can do about it except continue to apply. L)P seems to always offer positive reinforcement and encouragement on this board, and I think that is really important. This board is like a support group for fans who want to be on the show. Whether we receive a call back or not, we can always find encouraging words. Looking at this quote, I think everyone should continue to send in their applications. Who knows what might happen. You only need to catch their eye once, and then you might be cast. Obviously, everyone on this board cannot be cast, but if a few more pygmies are cast it will be great. Never give up! As long as the show is still on the air, they will still receive my application twice a year! ^^^^Very nice words SA!! I am not giving up!

I have to admit that I hear the buzz sometimes when folks are in line for the "interview" and over the last 2-2.5 years, I have heard of more folks
getting calls, interviews et all.. so, we are either getting better at projecting ourselves or they are at least remembering us more. Don't give up, they
look at applicants first and recruit to fill the slots...
If there is a chance, go for it... you only lose by giving up. Pygmy Island doesn't have quitters.

Val, nightly runs are great. I used to run about 1182 miles in a year and am trying to work back up to that now. Running can be addictive but it is a great way
to try to outrun some of your frustrations and if that doesn't work you can sweat them out with a good hard workout. I just came in from both....now
it's shower time...
It is a beautiful night out, the moon is full tonight. The neighbor must have noticed too because when I left for my run I passed him collecting his garbage cans and when I returned he was using his telescope in the driveway. It really is beautiful out. Val you are in my state hope you enjoy a run under the full moon tonight... just call me ms tebow lover

Ms.C, yes, I noticed the moon as I was heading in from my run. I am 2 miles from the beach so I have set my goal to be able to run there and back by the end of
July. Hello neighbor...perhaps we will run into each other at a future casting call.

It's funny that you guys bring up running and naked. A few years back I went to Vegas and was running around my hotel's hallways naked. Drunk and on a dare of course. I am planning another trip to Vegas and I am going to do my S-20 app out there. Yes I'm planning it already. I'll probably have a friend come with me to film it. Going to Vegas alone would be a crime its and experience best shared. |

Val, too bad you don't run on the beach, the soft sand is better on the knees than pavement. Isn't that right Running? Where I live there are no
sidewalks or streetlights but I like to run at night so it is nice when the moon is full enough to see. Plus the road that I live on is an old 2 lane with dips
at the edges so I practically have to run on the yellow line or trip and get road rash.
Vegas reminds me of my favorite Sara Bareilles song by that title. So anybody else got any creative ideas for their next video? just call me ms tebow lover |

I still am having trouble grasping the issue with SEG recruiting. Is there a rational arguement other than "because it means there are less slots for
ME" ('me' being the person who is whining about recruiting)?
Does it actually say anywhere in the app/faq that all contestants will be picked from the application pool or something like that? I, for one, am all for recruits if means less boring/ugly/losers on the show. An arguement against recruits woudl be "they are all shitbirds" so I was thinking we could try and quantify that (sorry-I work in finance so I am all about teh numbers). I wonder if there is some sort of list of recruits. I think it would be a fun exercise to sort of go through the list and put "good" / "neutral" / "sucks" next to the names and see how the % fall out. Then do the same with the non recruits and see how those % fall out. Anyone have a comprehensive list of every survivor? I will create a spreadsheet with the results, unless no one cares-but this seems like a hot topic........................
