That totally makes sense wannabe. I admit i am already contemplating my next app and vid. I am even thinking of shooting some of the vid now while the wounds
are still fresh.

For some reason, I am not completely sold that Coach actually applied.

Carolina was also a "friend of a friend," though not as directly as the others. One of her friends was on the phone with someone in casting, and
Carolina made a "joke" in the background that the casting person overheard (from the phone). So this casting person asked the friend on the phone who
had said that joke and that's how they got Carolina. This took place at the bar where she worked in LA. Sounds strange, but true.

Fukin SEG, man. I already had the million spent....now what am I going to tell the bill collectors when they call? Please don't let 20 be an allstars
edition...they NEED to hear what I have to say in my next video. They want to cast "characters"? I'll give them Pissed Off Disgruntled Potty
Mouth Applicant.

hey IB. yeah i've been hitting the books hard--can't even view the site where i've been, so i'm still catching up on all that's going on
here. i must say, being away for just a few months has definitely allowed me to reconsider all that really matters in life. if anything, i've definitely
become less concerned with this whole process. it's great, it's exciting, and i will always continue to apply-but i've realized that something like
a call-back for a reality show isn't something to be bitter, or stress about. didn't hear back this time--hey, maybe third time's a charm? i guess
we'll wait and see--but for now--hey, life goes on. who knows--maybe they haven't even started the calls yet? may we always be a little wrong.
SEG, call me.

I know a school Principal that will maybe join me on TAR. She can be the 'brains' of the team.
...did I mention my Dad's a Survivor fan too? He's so proud of me. |

Yup... the phone line may just be dead forever. Unless CBS runs out of other shows that make money. Let's hope the fans get a shot at 20 and not all past
players. UGH....

...I've been lurking around here since November and applied for the first time. Very disappointed no callback, guess I'll wait until the end of the
month to really call it quits this round. Oh well, I personally think they missed out on a great contestant for season 19.
Good thing is ever since I sent in my application at the beginning of June I've been working out five days a week just in case and lost a few pounds and gained some muscle. Debbie's daughter goes to my school though so maybe I'll just try to find her on campus and become good friends with her and try to get her mom to drop a hint to Lynne. |

Laughing Pygmy wrote:Yeah I hope fans get a shot at 20, and we don't see some past survivors playing the game for a 3RD TIME!! I just finished reading The Pact written by Drs. Sampson Davis, George Jenkins, and Rameck Hunt and came across a quote in a chapter on perseverance, which made me think of everyone on this board. This is the story of three African-American men who grew up in dangerous neighborhoods in Newark. They made a pact with each other when they were in high school that they would all go through medical school and become doctors. There were many different obstacles they encountered along the way, but they never gave up, constantly encouraged each other, and all became doctors. Here is the quote that made me think of this board: "That's how life is sometimes. When you've failed repeatedly and think you're done, that last try --- the one that requires every ounce of will and strength you have --- is often the one to pull you through." People on the boards seem to be down on Survivor because of all the contestants who were recruited to be on the show the past 2 seasons. I agree... I'm pissed off that there aren't more "fans" on the show, but there is really nothing we can do about it except continue to apply. L)P seems to always offer positive reinforcement and encouragement on this board, and I think that is really important. This board is like a support group for fans who want to be on the show. Whether we receive a call back or not, we can always find encouraging words. Looking at this quote, I think everyone should continue to send in their applications. Who knows what might happen. You only need to catch their eye once, and then you might be cast. Obviously, everyone on this board cannot be cast, but if a few more pygmies are cast it will be great. Never give up! As long as the show is still on the air, they will still receive my application twice a year! |
