I don't mind when casting has to "recruit" to fill spots that they can't find through the applications... It just gets discouraging when the people that they "recruit" all live within miles of the studio. The refreshing part of survivor was that it was "average" Americans who had a shot at "1 million dollars"... people who got up every day and slaved to the work lord had a chance at changing their lives. But, more and more it seems like the spots are filled with self absorbed "look at me" actors and actresses who have not had to want for much in their lives... if they get booted, then it is "Oh Well" ... time to find a new gig, at least I have something for my resume. I would much rather see people out of their element.. I would like to see some folks who are "Uncomfortable" in front of the camera, who are "uncomfortable" with the spotlights, who are "uncomfortable" with the great outdoors... I want to watch average folks change and develop over the 13 weeks... I want to see people leave with a new appreciation of life and others... I think in these desperate economic times.. more people would be more interested in watching some "average" folks benefit of the million dollar grand prize... It is hard to watch a bunch of spoiled kids or even worse a "millionaire" playing the game when most folks don't know if their livelihood will still be intact tomorrow... I just think that when you want to escape reality, watching "elitists" playing the game isn't as rewarding or interesting as watching the housewife from Kansas changing her life... Just my opinion for what it is worth. Enjoy the T&A tonight.
