Were there any types of challenges you thought may occur and you were worried/nervous about? Or any that when you saw what they were thought "oh crap"?

Thanks for all the great insight Susie! It's such a great gift. I sure hope my gut is as good as yours.

I was always concerned about swimming challenges, but as you seen they weren't bad at all. I was able to manage. The slide water challenge was hard when it
came to running up that hill. My legs just would not move. The water polo game was fun. You all didn;t get to see it all, but it was a lot of fun. I was not
afraid had I fallen in the water, I would have swam back to land or got myslef back in the boat, but it was not the case, I was able to balance well on the
little boat and keep afloat.
I did nto like the running through hills rolling that huge heavy ball. That was hard!! I was just thinking to myself "OMG I'm going to die!" That was horrible. That was actually the only challenge I was worried about not making it. I did, but it was not easy and I barely made it. Very tough challenge. Thanks again Susie

Susie, I was just wondering, is there a Survivor pecking order? How do original Survivors say, All-Stars and before, view the newer Survivors such as
yourself and vise-versa? Or are you all equals in the family?

Thanks, Susie! I hate waterslides so I would have probably been really upset when I saw that, lol.

Now today as I watch the show, I have nothing but total respect for each one of them. It not as easy as it looks. I remember thinking way back "I can do
that, oh for pete's sake, these guys are dumb", but truth is that you find yourself realizing you never knew what they were actualy going through. I
do now. I really do.

Hey Susie, now that you're back from this experience, have there been any long term consequences to your health?

Susie, I really appreciate you spending the time to answer all the questions - especially in the context of the forums. It's very cool to be able to go
back in the thread, see the other questions that fans of the show have posted, and then get your insights and experiences.
So here's my question for you - now that you've been on the show and know what it was like, what other types of preparations do you think would have been helpful to do before going on the show? You've said you swam and brushed up on all the things you thought you'd need, but what things did you NOT realize you would need? |

I really think you have to actually put yourself in competitions. For example, let's say you enter a balloon tossing competition, you can experience the
feeling or know how that you should try tossing the balloon in another way, so you don't break it. Enter competitons where you are allowed to enter again,
where you get more than once chance to win. For me this would have been great, because it would have put in the frame of mind that there is more than one way
to win. I never practiced entering any competitions of any sort, just read books, jogged, swam, but I never entered any silly competitions where you can learn
to think on the spot.
This may sound weird, but after finishing a challenge, I always told myslef, man wish we had another chance to try that, because I would have tried it differently. It's hard to explain. I hope that makes sense.Susie

My health is fine. I've gained some of my weight back, but that's because I like to EAT!
I went straight to the doctor as soon as I got home andhad my blood drawn and had some intestinal test run and I came out CLEAN. I was shocked, but was thankful I came home well. I don't know if that was luck or not, but I did drink at least a canteen of water a day. I always did my best to wash. Like when the water was bolied, I mean it's just smart to wash your hands the best you can with the hottest water. I did that as much as possible. I bolied my clothes as much as possible too, so anytime you had time to do that you were smart to do so. Susa:) |

I just now caught this thread for the first time. Thanks for giving all these insights, Susie. Always fun to see Pygmies get their shot at the game. Hope
it's on the air long enough for me to have a chance!

Well I thought I better get back here to sayhello again. I am enjoying the TAOCANTINES! Fun to watch and brings back lots of memories.
I'm working on finishing and detailing things for May 2nd event here in Charles City Iowa. Looks like we are going to have a very good turn out. We haev sold all the VIPS already and about 300 general admissions. I hope people enjoy hearing each of us speak. I am glad we will have our drum line play during an intermission and also at some point we'll do a "card building challenege" with some volunteers fomr the audience, we're only having 1st grade to 8th grade, probably just have it so it is elementary kids! I think they'll love it. If anyone wants to know more about it, please go to www.charlescitypress.com ot charlescitychamber.com and you can read all about it. Hope we'll get to see some of you there. Catch you soon. Susie

OMG Susie...i forgot to say how proud I was of you making and doing well on the show....you were the first person I spoke to on Pygmy Island back in the day
that I was aware of that made it to the finals and had a lot of helpful information...It was fantastic putting a face to the name and seeing you actually do
your thing!
Great job and always remember Spillman LOVES GG!! |

Thanks GG, I still remember meeting you here in pygmy. It's cool to think back.
The internet is a great source from where to pull information, to vent, to pretend, to just about do anything. I have enjoyed coming and spilling my heart and other times never spilling a thing. I'll have to come back and let everyone know how my event turns out. I am so excited to see my good friends. I am hoping we are able to raise the funds needed to buy that band trailer. All I can do is try. Susa1

Good Luck with your event Susie.
I thought of something else that I was curious about. Did you guys have access to a watch/clock to keep track of time? I could totally see myself constatly wondering what time it was. It's not who you are, it's who you know or who is watching you do boring things like shopping, going to the gym or hanging out at a taco stand. |
