High Definition finally makes it to Survivor land... we have great cameras and an outstanding location... If you read about Gabon, you can't
miss the history of the pygmies in the region... too bad CBS missed another opportunity to cast us...

The location for the 17th season of Survivor will be Gabon, a remote west-central African country that borders Guinea, Cameroon, Republic of the Congo and the Gulf of Guinea. Survivor Gabon: Earth's Last Eden is set to start filming in late June 2008 with 18 castaways, and will air in the U.S. in September 2008. Billed as the most remote location to date, Jeff Probst says they don't know what to expect - a gorilla could wander in at any moment! Host Jeff Probst's torch shows no sign of being snuffed out with his confirmation as host of the forthcoming season. However he joked that being the first season to be shot in High Definition he was worried about how he'd look "I went through every scenario: Is there any way I can wear makeup? Is there any way I could not shoot in the middle of the day? And the answers are all no. I've just come to terms with it." Two years ago Jeff announced plans to quit after Survivor Panama: Exile Island. He had reached what he called "a point where I thought 'Maybe I've done all I can do on the show.' And I wanted to be home because I thought maybe it was taking a toll on my personal life." But with therapy and introspection, he says, he developed a new appreciation for the work. Jeff is looking for a girlfriend that shares his love of the great outdoors and doesn't mind roughing it "If you're a five-star hotel person, I'm probably not the right guy," he says. "Not that there's anything wrong with five-star hotels." |

High Def could be the end of Survivor
The eye candy that we get now wont look so sweet in High Def LOL I remember hearing a couple of years ago that High Def will ruin the porn industry because there are just some things better left to the imagination LOL |

Jeff is "looking for a girlfriend"? What happened to Julie?
I must be in a time warp, I thought they were a couple. |

They were but I think "Miss Assets" got tired of not living the high life. I think she probably wanted the glamorous life-style.Judging by Jeff's
latest interview it seems to me that Jeff is more down to earth & lives a pretty unglamorous lifestyle. Sure he probably has a million dollar home & a
nice car, but like he said in his interview,He would rather just drive out to the desert & sleep in his car than sleep in a 5-star hotel.

Just saw this over at Survivor Fever
Culture/Production Themes Gabon is one of the last places on Earth with still primitive areas. It lies next to Congo. - Heart of Darkness (Joseph Conrad) ****- Pygmies (yes there are pygmy tribes there) **** - Tarzan (site of fictional Tarzan novels) - Albert Schweitzer - Slavery - blood diamonds? Wouldn't it be great if some of us made it there. |
