Oh, wow! G/L Madcat, pics would be awesome. I think the fact there is a casting call at this point is a good sign that 20 is NOT an Allstar season.

Yes, but the rumor that they are recycling Samoa for 20 scared me a little since the only other 2 times they recycled a location back to back was for ASS and
FvF. I'm not sure I even believe they will stay in Samoa. They could move over to another nearby South Pacific island. They are definately filming 20 right
after 19 wraps though....which is also probably the reason for the rolling app.

I'm wondering if they used the S19/S20 app. to cast both seasons. Maybe they picked the people already for both seasons. Though if someone interesting came
along they could change the cast. You have to figure that they usually have the Finals around April which is 2 months before they leave to film. So if they are
filming at the beginning of August then wouldn't the Finals for S20 have already happened ?

I was thinking aabout that too. Plus don't Burnett and Probst have some say/attend the LA finals? They will likely be in Samoa due to the back to back
filming.

Yes, I believe I wrote that a few months back in another thread. Survivor casting is over.
The only way it will come back is if "Expedition" and "Live for today" flop badly and the Macho Men start to worry about losing their "MOJO"... I can see it disappearing for a year and then have a "Survivor Special" appear ... They really haven't been digging too deep into the applications for a while... If you applied recently, It may not even be looked at for "Survivor", it may be used for another shitty show, or maybe they will store them for when the rest of the "shiity" shows fail... they will be back. |

Well, I just heard from someone that her father receieved a callback on Thursday for S20. He sent in his app about 4 weeks ago. This was his 3rd app, 2nd
callback. First callback(would have been for Gabon) went nowhere, was a one time thing. This call he told them he was no longer able to be considered for s20
due to his son's August wedding. He is in his mid to late 50s. Could she have been bsing me, sure....but she really has no reason to do so....unless
she's just really bored, hahaha.

I don't believe for a second that they're done casting for S20, sorry LP--just my two cents. Why would they still leave their application up? Even if
they were to use those apps for casting other god-awful shows, there wouldn't be much sense in holding casting calls for SURVIVOR and taking in 5,000+
applications just to sit in their offices. My hope's not gone.

Never been to a casting call, but have always thought the event may be more about promoting a local radio/tv station or new car dealer than finding real
candidates. It creates the same hype as a 'going out of business' or 'everything must go' sale that furniture companies do every 6 months.
Anything like that going on at these events, or are they for real? Not just living - Surviving |

Casting calls are free publicity, they cost very little to produce. Everything that I have heard for over a year is that S19 and S20 will be shot back to back and that S20 will be some sort of past players event. They can change their mind, hell they recast Fiji after they thought the whole cast was set ... but the facts are the facts. Applying is a crapshoot, it's always been that way. The whole thing is fun for me though, the show, the app/video, Pygmy Islanders. Not as much fun as a
couple of years ago, but still fun. I don't expect any return on investment, but if it happens SEG will make me a happy man.
