Kaka, your name lands somewhere between the Spanish and Afrikaans words for "shit". Thought it should be pointed out.

Hi KaKa
They leave the application up - sometimes forever (or it seems). It has nothing to do with want is going on in casting. In a nut shell: Casting calls when they call and interviews when they interview.

Well, I think I am officially a pygmy. I have gone through my first application process and rejection. The bitterness is setting in as is the reality. I figure
if LA is in April they need to give the finalist(read recruits) time to gather their medical forms and waivers and all that and book their flights get time off
of work, etc which would probably be occuring now or by next week at the latest.
So what happens to the rejects next? I would like to know what to expect. Will I be so bitter that I won't even want to watch season 19?

Oh hell no on the being to bitter to apply, you are hooked on this obsession of applying to Survivor, no matter how slim the chances are you will apply.

I asked if I would be too bitter to WATCH 19. I know I will watch, but I already find myself hating any cast member who did not actually apply or is not a pygmy. valentine79, you are feeling what many of us feel/felt: It is normal and do not make it a personal thing. You fit into SEG's slot or you do not. One time I
got into the casting process and after I was not selected I felt very, very sad and mad. What your feeling is normal
and you will apply again!

Has ANYONE actually heard or have any SOLID information (rumor or otherwise) that calls have been made and/or completed?
App says preliminary interviews in March, Final interviews in April in LA .... In the past, didn't they compress all that into shorter timeframes and do away with the regional interviews completely? Is it possible ... THAT we all haven't been DISSED ... ??? (yet?)

Val, I think the closer you come to being cast the more angry you will be and the more it will hurt when those opening credits roll and you are not in them. CC can probably back me up on that one. Don't be bitter-just have fun with it.....

Big Mac hit the button on the nose (do buttons have noses?) Ok: he hit the nail on the head - that's it! Anyway, yes the closer you get the more difficult
it is to deal with the rejection. You watch the show YOU should have been on thinking I could have been better, done better etc.... then all of those
people!!!! And it makes you mad - but you recover and go on with real live. Survivor would be so much fun to get to play, but life is what is important.

You will still hang on to hope and everytime the phone rings you will think you might still have a shot. Then you will watch the show and think what the F*&K the producers were thinking putting those rejects on when you should have been there. That will happen the whole show. you will swear off applying until you watch the Finale and Jeff says to apply. You will lose all self control and put yourself through the same crap of rejection. This will go on for years. BUT........ All of us that made a show finally were rejected many many many times ---- So don't give up. |

I get goose bumps when the opening credits pop up. Thinking one day, just one day that can be me! It does suck really really bad, but us TRUE fans will always be around! Never give up on your dreams!!!. I am thinking that we are shit out of luck for 19..unless they are looking for a certain slot and they can still make a call.

I think the rejection stings so much more now because we know how heavily recruited the show is....to think that someone could be standing at a taco stand in
LA and have a CA walk up and ask "Hey, want to be on Survivor?" And that person, who has never seen the show before thinks "Hmmm...maybe if I go
on this show I'll finally get that modelling gig I want." And that person breezes through the interviews based on the quality of his/her abs or
boobs....And you can see in that person's eyes that he/she really doesn't give a shit about the game...just face time on TV. I know that's the way
it is, and it's been bitched about ad nauseum, but it still f*cking sucks.
